Staff of AIB Ardkeen held a Fundraiser Spinathon in aid of Waterford Healing Arts Trust

The staff from AIB Ardkeen with Branch Manager Carol Normoyle, who got on their bikes for the Fundraising Spinathon in aid of Waterford Healing Arts Trust. The Spinathon took place at Ardkeen Stores on Friday, 5th April from 8am to 8pm and was kindly supported by AIB Ardkeen. All proceeds will go to the arts programmes at University Hospital Waterford (UHW) which are organised and managed by Waterford Healing Arts Trust (WHAT).

Volunteers from UHW, WHAT Fundraising Committee, WLR and local businesses joined AIB staff members on their bikes for this great cause. WHAT brings arts experiences to the bedsides of patients at University Hospital Waterford (UHW) and other healthcare settings. These experiences include Healing Sounds, a live music programme on the wards and in the hospital foyer; the mobile Art Kart, which travels to many of the hospital wards; the Artist on Call service, responding to individual patient needs; the Arts Programme in the Renal Dialysis Unit; the Staff Art Wall and the extensive UHW Art Collection.

Through these programmes, Waterford Healing Arts Trust seeks to soften the clinical environment and alleviate stress and anxiety for patients, family members and staff. Further details are available from Waterford Healing Arts Trust (051) 842664 / www.waterfordhealingarts.com
