Part 1 will take place for 3 hours on Thursday 28th January from 10am to 1 pm and Part 2 will take place on Thursday 4th February from 10am to 1pm.
Compliance – Workers legal responsibility
Under Section 13(1) b the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 all employees must ensure that they are not under the influence of an intoxicant (defined as drugs and alcohol) to the extent that he or she is in such a state as to endanger his or her own safety, health or welfare at work or that of any other person. Compliance – Employers legal responsibility
Information given by the Health and Safety Authority (HSA) is that from a health and safety perspective, employers need to be confident that employees are not a risk to themselves or others. If managers perceive that there is a risk action should be taken to remove the employee from the risk.
Those who drive company vehicles or their own car, the so called ‘grey fleet drivers’ are now considered high risk to their own personal safety and that of other road users.
