Driving for work in Winter

You should limit your travel during bad conditions to essential journeys or when there is no choice but to drive. Go through a vehicle checklist: Are your tyres in good condition; are they inflated with the right amount of pressure; are the wipers & lights correct; do you have an ice scraper and de-icer?

Ideally you should have an emergency kit stored in your vehicle. Items for this kit include: high visibility vest/jacket, torch & batteries and an emergency warning triangle. Also ensure you take a mobile phone with you on journeys but never use it while driving, only to be used while parked up.
