New Training Course Driving for Work

New – Half Day Certified In-Company Training Course Driving for Work – Under the Influence of Intoxicants (defined as drugs and alcohol) View details here

Breathalysers must be available in all new cars from 2022

The EAP Institute has developed a new half day in company training programme driving for work under the influence of intoxicants (defined as drugs and alcohol) in response to the Health and Safety Authorities highlighting of work related vehicle fatalities and employers responsibility in managing “grey-fleet drivers”.  A recent Road Safety Authority report has highlighted the risks of driving with prescription drugs. This programme was launched on World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims, on Sunday 17 November 2020.

The European Council in a landmark decision had announced that breathalysers must be able to be fitted into all new cars from 2022, cars made before 2022 will have to comply with the new rules by 2024. This ruling will apply to all grey- fleet drivers who use their own vehicles in the course of their work.

The EAP Institute is currently taking bookings for this training from January to March 2020. Please advise if your company is interested in this training. The preparation of this training requires 5 – 6 weeks advance notice to allow time for preparing the manuals and processing the application for certification.
